Chef  Teuku Syafrulsyah brings his creativity, knowledge and passion to each plate.

With a successful culinary career worldwide, Born in Jakarta, Indonesia Chef Teuku Syafrulsyah started his journey with The Grand Hyatt Jakarta . After a brush with Asian cuisine and an almost 4 year long stint with Grand Hyatt Dubai, Chef Teuku became the Executive Chef at the stunning Park Hyatt Zanzibar, Tanzania. Now at Park Hyatt Chennai, Teuku oversees the full-scale culinary aspects of the all-day dining restaurant – The Dining Room , the specialty restaurant – The Flying Elephant, and the very unique banqueting facility at the hotel – The Apartment.


With an undaunted flair for the Chinese style of cooking using an amalgamation of fresh vegetables, soft flavored breads and exotic spices, he’s ready to cook up a culinary storm at the Park Hyatt Chennai. Everyone eagerly awaits.


Constantly striving to make his guests come back for more, Chef Teuku’s philosophy is “believing that food is a very translucent form of art”. With keen personal interests like photography & travelling Chef Teuku balances both work and play well, as he does with his food and continues to cultivate his passion for cooking.

Rinku Madan

Rinku Madan, an acclaimed Gourmand in India, recently completed her studies in Global Journalism at the Harvard University, Massachusetts (Grade A Honors) with the objective to pursue her writing skills in the area of Global Luxury. She had earlier studied at the French Culinary Institute in New York (an affiliate of Culinary Institute of America) to certify in the arena of Food Writing.
