The Jumeirah Vittaveli Experience

The Jumeirah experience begins as soon as guests arrive at the Maldives airport. They receive priority customs service and a personal welcome at the airport, followed by a 20 minute luxury yacht transfer to the island. A traditional Maldivian Bodu Beru reception awaits, comprising a group of drummers and dancers who greet guests at the private jetty. The Royal personal butler takes over, making sure from here on that the stay at the Jumeirah Vittaveli  is indeed Bespoke luxurious experience. Mine was the lovely Aziza Ait Sermane.

‘The gigantic Ocean Villa’ can only be accessed by a speed boat. The Villa includes the Master Bedroom on the upper floor with a king-size bed , as well as a separate indoor living area, an additional bedroom on the ground level, private spa treatment room and a tiny manmade private beach. Three indoor bathrooms with his and hers vanities and oversized stone bathtub by Kelly Hoppen™ is complemented by an outdoor bathing area featuring a Jacuzzi with in-built TV and a private pool –including your own private open air deck as well as walk-in wardrobe and stone bathtub. ‘The Villa’ also has its own giant water slide, which lands into the Sea in front of the Villa.

SWARNA

Touted as perhaps the most expensive Indian Restaurant Globally

Swarna translates to ‘gold’ in Sanskrit. True to its name, the restaurant is exclusive in its décor and ambience. Set in a lush garden with open-air dining cabanas, Swarna creatively interprets traditional Indian recipes to create a unique dining experience.

Recognized as the “Best Indian Cuisine in Asia” by the World Luxury Restaurant Awards in 2016, 2017, and 2018, the restaurant’s menu features hand-picked ingredients from around the world. The signature Swarna Thali represents a journey through the rich heritage of Indian cuisine, all served on an oversized copper plate.

The ‘Gold at Swarna’ menu is an exquisite dining experience including such rare luxuries as Iranian caviar, known for its delicate taste, black summer truffles, picked for their distinctive aroma, as well as Khasi lamb from Jaipur in Rajasthan. The lavish meal ends in a golden dessert truffle, infused with dark chocolate. Gold in edible form is added to each course, such as the gold-coated Himalayan pink salt or rose gold-coated lamb patty.

Chef Bharat Kapoor

Definitely a powerhouse of talent and technique, this young chef from the stables of Welcomgroup, Taj, Masala Club, Baluchi etc , is the brain behind the star attraction at the Jumeirah Vittaveli – Swarna-Inspired Indian restaurant. Also touted as perhaps the most expensive Indian restaurant globally. He is successfully bringing Indian food to a global platform, with his intricate research of each ingredient which uses to develop amazing recipes.

He fuses techniques from across the globe keeping Indian flavors intact , hereby seeking inspiration from our regional cuisines.

Chef Francis Cp

Chef Francis Cp; Executive Chef Jumeirah Vittaveli – his deep passion for quality food, sustainable agriculture, and the culinary arts. Is what he likes to use to give us the wonderful food he cooks.

His Specialities include – Foie Gras, which can be prepared in many ways. His favorite is a classic Terrine de Foie Gras with hints of spiced stone fruits that harmonize with the creamy yet delicate flavors of the liver.

‘But there is nothing better than a pan-fried Hilsa. The texture of crisp, Bengali mustard sauce when it reaches your palate is heavenly’ he says. This preparation is rounded off with a piquant sauce based on mustard and gandhoraj lemon, so that the tartness of the sauce and the mustard paste makes a great marriage.

One must cook from the heart is his mantra.
