About The Ramada Jammu

The Naughty Pint Bar

The Naughty Pint Bar on the second floor of the hotel is a Irish inspired casual and happy space.  The bar offers a fabulous array of drinks, cocktails and the finest spirits and guests can enjoy taking in the views of Trikuta Hills.  Highlights include the wonderful Dak bunglow chicken or Nasheela murg tikka, as well as the signature Nagoya Penaeus – Crumb fried prawns served with spicy tomato dip, is not to be missed!

The World Cuisine Restaurant – An all day dining

The All day dining on the ground floor has a very universal atmosphere and offers a range of contemporary cuisine in a more informal setting. The Café is popular with both hotel guests and locals to come in and enjoy breakfast, brunch or the all-day menu with a range of “to go” options for local customers and business people.

The breakfast options in the Grand Café feature tasty dishes including eggs benedict, delicious traditional french toast or a healthy sago halwa and a host of signature specials, such as canadian cow milk waffles and energiser smoothie.

The fabulous all-day menu, with options such as  roghan Josh to share, universal cob club sandwiches – served with gucamole roasted bell peppers etc, locally caught tandoori trout or  healthy options like brown rice basil pesto with grilled salmon or chicken are also sure to tempt anyone’s taste buds.

THE CHINAR

About the Restaurant

The restaurant Chinar is the traditional restaurant– created with convivial, welcoming spaces for guests to feel at ease.

It features traditional seating, surmounted by mirrors bordered with the leaf motifs of the Chinar tree.

As the eponymous panel suggests, it is inspired by artefacts and passion for tradition of Ramada Jammu’s founder- Raju Chowdhary and Siddhant Chowdhary.

The room is beautifully furnished, in keeping with the Kashmiri tradition, enhanced by an interplay of materials and light, which enhances it with a warm and appealing atmosphere. The tables, chairs, and sideboards in engraved wood and the natural elegance of raw materials were created and designed by local artisans.

In this warmly attractive, restaurant with about 40 covers, Chef Javed Ahmed Waza from Kupwara near Srinagar has devised a menu that exudes the spirit of Wazwan The highlight being the Khatta Meat, Tabak Maaz, Palak Rista, Khumani Kofta, Mutton Nat.a Yakhni, Waza Haaq, Peeda de Rajma, Nadroo Yakhni and Butt Haaq. The Phirni is most amazingly delicious here.

Linking History with the Modern Age

“We were deeply committed to this project, the closest to our heart we have ever undertaken; we wanted to create a heritage site while endowing Jammu with a new jewel,” affirms Siddhant Chowdhary, Owner – General Manager of the Ramada Hotel – Jammu.

On display at the Ramada Hotel in Jammu, are impressively sized and distinctive large murals commissioned for the 7-storey hotel , from local artists and paintings from Basholi – a small rural town in Kathua district famous for its miniature paintings. The Mural of the Three Rivers – Jhelum, Tawi, and Indus – the mural is located in the hotel’s vast lobby, and is illuminated from above, further enhancing its impact. Beautifully hypnotic it drawss you into the depths of their elegantly graceful fluidity. They also have a KC family mural (The KC family is one of the oldest and most illustrious families of Jammu), depicting their history as well as their current businesses and the family tree.

These local artworks, executed in signature style – swirling cosmoses of blues and whites, embellished with startling bursts of color – are the highlight of the new 88-bedroom hotel, which opened this September 2018.

Mr Raju Chowdhary

Mr Raju Chowdhary is the Managing Director of J&K’s leading industrial house “The KC Group”. After graduating in BA Hons, (Economics) from the prestigious Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi he joined family business of timber.

Over the period of last three decades he has taken various initiatives in the field of Business & Industry and has many firsts like setting up first plywood factory, first Ferroalloys plant & first Mall & Multiplex in J&K.  They have diversified into multifarious fields of business & industry such as automobile dealerships, steel, Ferroalloys, plywood,  Pharmaceuticals, Hotels.  KC Central the first Mall & Multiplex in J&K.

He is an avid traveler & a keen Golfer.

Mr. Chowdhary is in the forefront in social causes & to give back to the society a non profit trust, KC Educational society was formed of which Mr. Raju Chowdhary is the Vice Chairman. Under the aegis of this society, KC Public School, KC College of Education &  KC Law college in J&K are functioning & are    leaders in their respective fields. Mr Raju Chowdhary was also the Chairman of CII Jammu & Kashmir.  In recognition of Mr Raju Chowdhary’s contribution to the industry in J&K  he was awarded the ‘Udyog Ratna’ Award by the then Hon’ble Chief Minister of J&K Jenab Mohd. Sayeed  in the year 2006-07.

SIDDHANT CHOWDHARY

Born in Jammu on June 4, 1992.  Siddhant is the youngest General Manager of any Hotel I know off!!

Being School Head Boy gave him first-hand experience in leadership and built his confidence to put his thoughts into action.

College in Warwick helped him take forward his passion for adventure, standing for and winning elections and finally graduating with Warwick Advantage Gold Award to his credit and, of course, earning a degree in Law and Management Studies.

A protegee of the acclaimed, Hospitality Management School in Switzerland | Glion, shaped his outlook towards life.

He has also worked at at Hyatt, Key West, Florida.

Rinku Madan

Rinku Madan, an acclaimed Gourmand in India, recently completed her studies in Global Journalism at the Harvard University, Massachusetts (Grade A Honors) with the objective to pursue her writing skills in the area of Global Luxury. She had earlier studied at the French Culinary Institute in New York (an affiliate of Culinary Institute of America) to certify in the arena of Food Writing.
